“We can do this Soul.” Maka growled to herself as she tightened her grip on Scythe Soul.
“Maka, don’t do it, let’s wait for Black*Star and Kidd.” Soul said.
“We can do this Soul.” Maka growled at him.
The witch smirked at them, grabbing one of her grenades and throwing it at them.
“Maka! Let’s go!” Soul exclaimed.
Soul fell back with the impact of the bullet, sucking in his breath in pain.
“Soul!” Maka yelled out, reaching out for him.
“She’s getting away.” Soul growled as he saw the witch run into an abandoned building.
“Soul, are you okay?” Maka asked him.
“Soul! No!” Maka called out, running after him.
“No Maka. She was going to kill you, she made this personal.” He growled.
Maka saw the fierce look in his eye. “Soul?” she asked.
Maka stared at him. “Soul?” she called out, banging on the door.
She saw Soul say something, but she couldn’t hear him. “What?”
Soul held his hand up against the door and mouthed the words that Maka could read.
“Maka, I tried my best to get here as soon as possible.”
“Soul is in there!” Maka yelled in frustration pointing to the building.
“We can’t do anything Maka!” Kidd yelled back at her.
“Soul.” Maka whispered, hugging herself as she felt a hollow feeling start to fill her.
